Tested in clinical trials in 14 countries!
Most of our R&D was based on post radiation/chemotherapy patients.basically the most difficult cases to treat.
Immediate increased saliva production can be achieved by stimulation of salivary glands to secrete more saliva. Another, complementary way is to increase the basic secretory capacity of salivary glands by repairing them if they have been damaged or by stimulating gland growth.
We have evidences that indicate that our devices cause this, in a similar way than continuous stimulation has been shown to lead to gland weight increase (hypertrophy and hyperplasia) and increase in salivary secretion. In our trial we had 3 subjects that started the trial with 0 secretion rate, both non stimulated and stimulated by chewing. All these 3 subjects developed during the 11 month study capacity to secrete saliva from the salivary glands.
Thus, continuous use of Saliwell devices may increase the basic capacity to secrete saliva.
